You could almost hear the collective rejoicing of Perth gardens as the rain fell all day today. Seems autumn has finally returned from its very extended holiday, the lazy thing.
But with the cooler temperatures and precipitation comes the reluctant abandonment of our beloved alfresco bars in exchange for warmer, drier watering holes. Lucky for us, small bar Lost Society just opened last Friday. This swanky little pleasure den has filled the two-story space that was previously occupied by Box Deli in Perth’s West End.
Owner Tony Tricarico, who also owns Duchess Bar and Malt Supper Club, decked the place out in his signature style whose hallmark is over-the-top lavishness. Crystal chandeliers dangle from the ceilings. The walls are swathed in intricately patterned wallpaper. A DJ spins chilled out lounge tunes. The smaller rooms upstairs, which can be hired for private soirees, contain plush sofas, glass tables and incredibly well dressed patrons sipping from delicate glasses. And to top off the look? Two leggy models stand pouting in the alcove near the front entrance. Yes, it’s that kind of place.
Guests can choose from an extensive range of top shelf spirits, wine, beer and bubbles. Then there are the cocktails, which are divine.
If you choose to partake in the supper menu – which is available till 2am – then beware: those models look hungry.
